Diablo 2 dedicated server lan reddit2/10/2024 ![]() ![]() There are some frustrations in the beginning that disappear when you level up a bit, but that doesn't stop them being annoying at the start. The game can be hard (this can be a good or a bad thing), especially starting out (if you do go with D2 I would recommend a skellymancer to start as it is a fun build that starts at level 1). I can go into more detail if this is something you are into. ![]() If you play single player, you can play different patches - there have been a couple of massive gameplay changes as patches progressed which adds even more variety. Because of this, you can replay the 7 base characters multiple times and have a different gameplay experience. Some of those builds are built around a specific item, whilst others are generic. But its a fairly shallow experience, the game play loop is much more straightforward, in the endgame you'll basically just be running rifts and only rifts, in a fairly mindless way. I think it is worth it if you're open to the experience and will tolerate the trouble of getting it running and looking right, and then also open to a steeper learning curve, and spending some time.ĭ3 you'll be able to just hop right in. But right now, unless you're a diehard arpg fan and somehow haven't played d2 yet, I wouldn't pick up d2. I think that in the grand scheme of things d2 is a better game overall and also historically more significant.
